I’ve started following Neil Patel as I learn more and more about SEO Techniques.  In this article he delves deep into techniques that WILL improve your Search Engine Optimization (SEO) which will totally drive more traffic to your site. That’s the name of the game, after all… driving traffic to your site.

Of particular note is his idea about creating optimized landing pages.  These pages are built specifically to help weed out casual visitors from those that are serious.  They can be used to build leads in your lead system, subscribers to your newsletter and communications, and even purchase products.

SEO and backlinks…. a dead issue or not?  In the website development business, we always look to help our customers.  Sometimes, however it’s like leading the horse to water… you can get the horse there, but it’s hard to make them drink.

 

SEO appears to be the same thing at times.  People call us asking for help, be it design related or traffic related and we always ask the same basic questions.  In most cases, we get to the question of search engine ranking for your keywords and backlinks… and people just have no idea what we’re asking.

It's April 21st (Mobilegeddon)... How is your mobile search ranking doing?

April 21, 2015…. It doesn’t quite have the ring that April 15th does…. But for those of us with websites, it could be just as important.  It's Mobilegeddon day.... 

Today is the day that Google officially uses a site's mobile access capabilities as a ranking criteria.  Now, before you click over to google.com and do a search, note that this is specifically more prominent when the search happens via mobile device.

The World Wide Web is classified as a form of Information and Communications Technology, or ICT. Laws and policies regarding ICT accessibility that are already in existence are being considered in terms of the Internet. In addition, more and more legislation addressing ICT accessibility is being enacted around the world.

Holiday Traditions On Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Day is observed as a holiday primarily in Canada and in the U.S.  In Canada it’s celebrated on the second Monday in October while in the U.S. it’s on the fourth Thursday in November.  The celebration traditionally extends through the weekend making a long weekend break for most.  It provides us a time to reflect on what we’re thankful for as well as spend some much needed time with our families.  All generations embrace this holiday as it holds special meanings for all.

Most businesses have websites. No doubt.  Not all of them, however, have blogs.  A number of studies continue to point to the value of a blog for customer retention and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Sales.

Google dislikes stagnant websites.  Change is good.  This doesn’t mean having to rewrite your whole website when you want Google to come around again.  It’s more about providing Google some new content on a regular basis to help make it happy.

Hubspot ran a study and published some interesting results:  companies with blogs have 55% more visitors, 97% more inbound links and 434% more indexed pages.
